Outdoor Therapies at Mangrove Mental Health

Experience, explore, and grow with purpose.

Outdoor Therapies for Adolescents in Schools

At Mangrove Mental Health, we offer outdoor therapy programs designed to help adolescents develop confidence, resilience, and social skills through experiential, nature-based learning.

These programs combine therapeutic support with practical, hands-on activities, giving students the chance to grow emotionally, socially, and cognitively outside the traditional classroom setting.

Why Outdoor Therapy?

Adolescence can be a time of change, challenge, and self-discovery. Outdoor therapy provides a safe and supportive environment where students can:

Build confidence and independence by navigating challenges and achieving goals

Strengthen social and teamwork skills through group-based activities and collaborative problem-solving

Develop resilience and problem-solving skills in real-world, experiential settings

Enhance emotional wellbeing through movement, mindfulness, and connection with nature

Foster positive peer relationships by encouraging trust, communication, and cooperation

Flexible Delivery Options

We understand schools have unique needs, so our programs can be delivered:

On-site at your school, making integration into the school day simple and convenient

Off-site in natural or outdoor environments, offering immersive experiences that encourage exploration and personal growth

Curriculum Alignment and Learning Outcomes

Our outdoor therapy programs are designed to support the Australian Curriculum General Capabilities, including:

Personal and Social Capability: self-awareness, confidence, and emotional regulation

Social and Emotional Learning: empathy, cooperation, and relationship-building

Critical and Creative Thinking: problem-solving, decision-making, and adaptability

Ethical and Intercultural Understanding: fairness, respect, and inclusivity

Students leave with practical skills they can apply to school, friendships, and everyday life, supporting long-term wellbeing and personal development.
